    1. How to update Impreza to a new version?

    Automatic Updates

    After activating the Impreza theme you can enable automatic updates for it, just like it works for themes that are listed in the default WordPress repository. Go to Appearance > Theme Options > Theme Update page and enter your ThemeForest user name and ThemeForest API key.

    Manual Updates

    You can download a new version of Impreza at your downloads page. After downloading there are 2 ways of upgrading the theme:

    1. Recommended: upload contents of Impreza folder from downloaded archive to wp-content/themes/Impreza folder on your server overwriting all files (via FTP or other file transfer method)
    2. If you have no access to the server, or you dont know where the theme folder is, you can go to Appearance > Themes at WP admin, then activate any other Theme (like Twenty Twelve from standard package) and delete current Impreza theme. Don’t worry, all posts, pages and other items will be saved at Database. Then go to Install Themes tab and Upload new .zip file with updated Impreza theme, then activate it. After that please go to Appearance > Theme options and verify that everything is up to date there and check if Menu is selected right (it must be OK, just make sure)

    Once the Update of the Theme is complete. Disable the Revolution Slider and Visual Composer for Impreza on the Backend ( Plugins Area ) and remove them from plugins folder ( This will not produce any lost of content as Styles, Visual Composer effects or Sliders  ) . Install the latest versions of Revolution Slider and Visual Composer for Impreza that can be found on the Theme Folder on ( vendor/plugins )

    2. How and why use a Child Theme?

    A Child Theme is used if you want to make some changes to CSS styles or functionality of the theme and you want to keep recieving updates of main theme.

    You can upload Impreza Child theme in the same wey you have uploaded main theme – via FTP or via WordPress admin panel.

    There are no disadvantages of not using a Child Theme if you have no plans to modify the Main Theme. A Child Theme is just an option we offer – it’s not mandatory.

    3. How to translate some Theme's words? (e.g. labels of Contact Form)

    You can translate Impreza into your language using files located at /Impreza/languages/ folder. In order to translate the theme, follow the steps below:

    1. Locate default.po and files at Impreza/languages folder
    2. Edit the .po file using POEdit
    3. Use the translation field to make replacements
    4. Save file with your language name (File > Save as at program menu), for example: es_ES.po. It will generate both a .po and .mo file for your translation.
    5. Go to your server via FTP, and upload the language files to the languages folder of Impreza theme (located at wp-content/themes/Impreza/languages)
    6. Go to Settings > General at your admin dashboard and select needed language at the “Site Language” option (became available in WordPress 4.0).

    4. How to add the Slider Revolution?

    First of all you need to install Slider Revolution using archive which located at /Impreza/vendor/plugins/ folder of your downloaded package.

    For creating/editing sliders you can read full documentation of the Revolution Slider in /Documentation/Slider_Revolution_Documentation/ folder of your downloaded package.

    In order to place created Slider Revolution to your pages, you should place it’s shortcode either via Shortcode Generator or Visual Composer.

    5. How to remove the gap above my Slider Revolution?

    If you want to use full width Slider (like at Impreza demo), you have to do following steps:

    1. Put your slider into separate Row at Visual Composer
    2. Open popup with Row settings by clicking on “pencil” icon at the top right corner of the Row.
    3. Check Separate Section checkbox, then check appeared Full Width Content and Full Height Content checkboxes.

    6. Where I can find shop pages? Why it not included in the demo import?

    Impreza doesn’t include e-commerce functionality out of the box, so it doesn’t include shop pages too.

    For enable e-commerce functionality of the Theme you need to install free WooCommerce plugin. When you activate it, it will ask you to import dummy data by message at the top of your admin dashboard. Also you can import shop dummy data manually.

    7. When I open my Portfolio Item's page it displays error 404. How can I fix it?

    In order to fix this error, navigate to Settings > Permalinks in your Dashboard and press “Save Changes” button. This will update your .htaccess file with new rewrite rules needed for portfolio and other custom post types to work properly.

    8. How to fix the repeating of the Vertical Parallax image?

    Unfortunately there is no fix at the moment. We want to improve behavior of vertical parallax images later.

    9. How to add a lightbox opening to my button or text link?

    Unfortunately currently there is no way to add lightboxes to buttons and links from Visual Composer or Shortcodes Generator. But you can switch your post/page editor to text mode and input raw HTML/Js code to add lightboxes to you site.

    If you would like to add a text link, that will open a lightbox with image:

    Just add a usual link with url pointing to the image source file e.g.:

    <a href="image-for-popup.jpg">Show Image</a>

    If instead you want the link to open an image without opening a lightbox, just add class “direct-link” to the code:

    <a href="image-for-popup.jpg" class="direct-link">Show Image</a>

    To open video or map in a lightbox:

    1) Add links with “open-iframe-lightbox” class

    <a href="" class="open-iframe-lightbox">Open Youtube</a>
    <a href="" class="open-iframe-lightbox">Open Vimeo</a>
    <a href=",+London,+United+Kingdom&hl=en&t=v&hnear=221B+Baker+St,+London+NW1+6XE,+United+Kingdom" class="open-iframe-lightbox">Open Map</a>

    Or even buttons:

    <a href="" class="open-iframe-lightbox g-btn type_primary">Open Youtube</a>
    <a href="" class="open-iframe-lightbox g-btn type_secondary size_big"><span><i class="fa fa-video-camera"></i>Open Vimeo</span></a>
    <a href=",+London,+United+Kingdom&hl=en&t=v&hnear=221B+Baker+St,+London+NW1+6XE,+United+Kingdom" class="open-iframe-lightbox g-btn type_contrast size_small outlined">Open Map</a>

    2) Add the script to open all links with “open-iframe-lightbox” as an iframe lightbox:

    jQuery( document ).ready( function() {

    To create popup from inline element you need to:

    1) Create a HTML element that you wish to display in popup and add it somewhere. Class mfp-hide is required to hide the popup from the page.

    <div id="test-popup" class="white-popup mfp-hide">
    Popup content

    2) Style the lightbox.

    .white-popup {
    position: relative;
    background: #FFF;
    padding: 20px;
    width: auto;
    max-width: 500px;
    margin: 20px auto;

    3) Add button that will open the popup (source must match CSS id of an element (#test-popup in our case).

    <a href="#test-popup" class="open-popup-link g-btn type_primary">Show inline popup</a>

    4) Initialize script.

    jQuery( document ).ready( function() {
    midClick: true // Allow opening popup on middle mouse click. Always set it to true if you don't provide alternative source in href.

    Impreza theme uses Magnific Popup jQuery plugin for handling all lightboxes. You can read it’s documention here for further modifications.

    10. How to implement my own (commercial) fonts into the theme?

    First of all, if you want to use other Google Font – you can set it up without any coding job done – just see options at Theme Options > Typography tab. But if you want to use your own font files, proceed reading.

    We use 2 fonts in our Theme – Noto Sans for headings and Open Sans for regular text. In order to replace fonts you have to do following simple steps:

    1. Upload and activate child theme if you havent done it previously. See question #2 of this F.A.Q. for details.
    2. Generate your font files for WEB, we recommend to use this Webfont Generator.
    3. Upload generated font files to /fonts/ subfolder inside child theme’s folder
    4. Add font family declaration for each font to child theme’s style.css file:
      @font-face {
        font-family: 'Your_Wanted_Font';
        src: url('fonts/Your_Wanted_Font.eot');
        src: url('fonts/Your_Wanted_Font.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'),
             url('fonts/Your_Wanted_Font.woff') format('woff'),
             url('fonts/Your_Wanted_Font.ttf') format('truetype'),
             url('fonts/Your_Wanted_Font.svg') format('svg');
        font-weight: normal;
        font-style: normal;

      and change Your_Wanted_Font name to your font’s name and filename.

    5. If you want to change font family for Regular Text:
      • set any web-safe font combination for Regular Text at Theme Options > Typography (screenshot)
      • add following CSS code to child theme’s style.css file:
        /* Regular Text Font Family */
        body {
            font-family: 'Your_Wanted_Font' !important;

        and change Your_Wanted_Font name to your font’s name.

    6.  If you want to change font family for Headings:
      • disable Google Fonts for Headings at Theme Options > Typography (screenshot)
      • add following CSS code to child theme’s style.css file:
        /* Headings Font Family */
        h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6,
        .w-shortblog-entry-meta-date-day {
            font-family: 'Your_Wanted_Font' !important;

        and change Your_Wanted_Font name to your font’s name.

    7. If you want to change font family for Main Menu:
      • disable Google Fonts for Main Menu Text at Theme Options > Typography (screenshot)
      • add following CSS code to child theme’s style.css file:
        /* Main Menu Font Family */
        .l-header .w-nav-item {
            font-family: 'Your_Wanted_Font' !important;

        and change Your_Wanted_Font name to your font’s name.

    11. How to set columns for a dropdown list of the Main Menu?

    Go to Appearance > Menus and there check CSS Classes (screenshot). Then you can add corresponding CSS class to your menu items (screenshot). Available values are:

    • columns_2
    • columns_3
    • columns_4
    • columns_5

    These classes are working for 1st level items only. Also note: if a 2nd level item has 3rd level items, it transforms to a “heading view” item (screenshot), if not — all 2nd level items display as usual (screenshot).

    12. How to add a button to the Main Menu?

    You can transform any 1st level menu item (not sub item) to a button view. Go to Appearance > Menus and there check CSS Classes (screenshot). Then add the btn class to needed menu item (screenshot) and save the changes.

    13. How to make OnePage site based on Impreza theme?

    1. Add as many rows as many sections you need in Home Page, for each section add Section ID in row properties (screenshot). Section ID must be without leading hash and first character must be a letter.
    2. Then add Custom links to those sections in your menu at Appearance > Menus, each link would look like this: (screenshot). Note that link must be not just “one”, but “#one” (with leading hash).

    Those links would be acting as smooth scrolling links to sections on Home Page, and will lead directly to those sections on inner pages.

    14. How to add an icon to a menu item?

    You can add an icon to your menu via adding <i class="fa <strong>fa-star</strong>"></i> at “Navigation Label” field of the menu item (screenshot). Change the fa-star to any other icon name from the FontAwesome list.

    15. How to enable visual composer for the Portfolio Items

    To activate the Visual Composer for the Portfolio Items go to ( Settings > Visual Composer > General Settings ) and there check or select under Content Types the option us_portfolio .
